Are the EDF breakers suitable for low temperature operation down to -50 deg C ?

Christian Cingolani, Global Product Marketing Manager LTB

ABB's answer

Yes. EDF breakers are suitable for low temperature operation down to -50 deg C. For low temperature applications below -30 deg. C mixed gas ( SF6 + N2 or SF6 + CF4 ) is used. With the use of this gas mixture, the relevant ratings and guaranteed values of short circuit ratings should be reconfirmed with the manufacturing unit
