What is the difference between a Dynacomp and regular capacitor bank?

The speed. A Dynacomp’s reaction time is 10 to 20 ms. Moreover a Dynacomp is transient free. Dynacomp stands for thyristor switched and a capacitor bank stands for mechanical contactor switched.
