What’s the difference between standard capacitor banks and detuned capacitor banks?

Kurt Schipman, Global Product Marketing Manager Capacitors and filters

ABB's answer

Standard capacitor banks are for electricity networks with none/low harmonic pollution and detuned capacitor banks are for electricity networks that have harmonics generated from non-linear loads mainly from modern electronic equipment (simple examples: Variable speed drives, computers, energy efficient lamps).
