What kind of disconnector should be used in the area which is prone to earthquakes?

ABB's answer

In normal service condition, vibrations due to causes external to disconnector or earth tremors are insignificant relative to the normal operating duties of the disconnector. The standard disconnector is designed for mounting on substantially level structures, free from excessive vibration, shock, or tilting. Where any of these abnormal conditions exists, e.g. installation where earthquakes are likely to occur, the additional requirement on seismic level or severity level in accordance with the standard (e.g. IEC or IEEE) could be specified.
