What is the life span of a distribution transformer?

How long does a distribution transformer last before it is replaced?

ABB's answer

Distribution Transformers produced by ABB are typically designed to withstand more than 25 years of operation under normal conditions.
Then, of course, the lifetime will be impacted by the electrical and environmental conditions where it is operating as well as the load characteristic and eventual overloading.
IEC60067-7 provides a simplified method to theoretically calculate the consumed insulation life of the transformer when overloaded continuously or temporary.
