How to perform high voltage testing of 132 kv gas insulated substations?

We have a new Chinese 132 kv GIS ready for commissioning. What type of high voltage tests are recommended on this double bus bar GIS equipment. In all there are five number 132 Kv bays, coupler and sectionalizer.

ABB's answer

Whenever possible, on-site high voltage tests should be performed according IEC recommendations.

For a 132 kV GIS, the requirements for on-site high voltage test are described in IEC 62271-203, Clause 10.2.101.2.3.

The recommended test procedure is Procedure A with power frequency voltage test with 235 kV for a duration of 1 min.
