What type of installation work is required on-site for GIS?

Olav Knudsen , Principal Engineer, Gas-insulated switchgear

ABB's answer

The GIS equipment is based on modules which are pre-assembled and tested in the factory and shipped as complete bays to site. This reduces substantial assembly efforts and commissioning time onsite Installation comprises coupling of the bays, wiring to the control and protection system, filling of SF6 gas and a high voltage test.
