How to program the SwitchSync F236?

Tim Schulze-Koenig, Global Product Manager Monitoring

ABB's answer

Controlled switching is meant to minimize harmful transient effects and ultimately extend the life of electrical equipment. Each transient phenomena is unique, as it is related to the type of load, power system and substation characteristics. Because of this, there is no “standard” programming method of F236.

Certain minimum information is required, such as load type (is it a capacitor bank, filter bank, shunt reactor bank?) and circuit breaker type (is it an HPL420B2, or an HPL245B1?)

The best programming strategy is then decided based on said parameters.

Pls contact your local ABB to provide a technical training for those interested in further learning of controlled switching strategies and applications.
