What parameters of a breaker should I monitor?

Tim Schulze-Koenig, Global Product Manager Monitoring

ABB's answer

The complexity of the monitoring system should relate to the importance of the individual asset. For breakers with high importance, a high precision of the assessment is desirable and as a result usually more parameters are monitored. For breakers with average importance, monitoring of some key parameters is usually sufficient (e.g. SF6 density, operating mechanism, breaker timing).
