What are the main differences between the Intertaire Fluid Preservation system and the Conservator or Expansion-Tank system?

Abhishek Rai, Marketing and Sales Manager

ABB's answer

Oil-filled power transformers are subject to changes in temperature, due to either loading or ambient conditions. Transformers use either a conservator mounted above the main transformer tank, or a chamber filled with a nitrogen gas within the transformer tank to accommodate the oil expansion. As the operational temperature range of a power transformer can be significant, Intertaire systems are mostly applied to smaller power transformers.
