At what age is maintenance recommended for GIS and what does it cover?

Herb Rogers, Head of High-voltage Service

ABB's answer

The maintenance philosophy of GIS consists of two pillars. The time based maintenance recommends maintenance for the GIS after 10 years of outdoor or 20 years of indoor application. The condition based maintenance considers the operations of the GIS - the no. of CO operations and/or the no. of SCC (short current operations) as per operation manual, or according to what is recommended in the diagnosis report. The GIS maintenance portfolio covers a broad range from dynamic sealing kits to complete overhauls and retrofits.
