For gas chromatography analysis, what's your recommendation for number of sample in each sampling interval?

For machinery oil analysis, we should take at least 2 samples for conformity of sampling. I want to know what should we do for transformer oil sampling, should we take also 2 samples?

ABB's answer

For DGA (dissolved gas in oil) analysis on transformer oil it is sufficient to sample one oil sample. Preferably one should sample at the min 50 ml of oil which gives the opportunity to run a second analysis on the GC in case something goes wrong with the instrument or the testing sequence. If the sample is taken in glass syringes and will be transported to the lab, we would recommend to sample oil in two syringes, just in case one syringe breaks.
