How is it possible to check that the measurement insert is O.K?

Horst Schwanzer, Global Product Manager for Temperature (in Alzenau, Germany)

ABB's answer

If the sensor is a RTD, then measure the resistance at the terminals. You can use the temperature handbook to check the values. If the sensor is a TC, then measure also the resistance at the terminals. The resistance is low, if the sensor is not broken.
